About the Role
McFarland Johnson (MJ) is seeking an Assistant Engineer - Bridge Engineering to join their growing Transportation Division in their Portland, ME, Concord, and Portsmouth, NH offices. This role offers an opportunity to shape infrastructure solutions and grow your career.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with a team of professionals in developing designs for public highway structure projects.
- Create and update construction specifications and contract documents for State DOT and Municipal Projects.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
- EIT preferred.
- 0-4 years of highway structure engineering analysis and design experience.
- Project experience with State DOT's preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Bentley OpenRoads Designer preferred.
- Working knowledge of AASHTO bridge design specifications a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organization and attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively participate as part of a project team.
