Role Overview

As a Food Service Assistant, you play a vital role in ensuring the nutritional needs and satisfaction of our patients, employees, and visitors. Your work directly supports the health and well-being of our community by providing timely, accurate, and courteous meal service. This role is essential in maintaining the high standards of care and hospitality that define Henry Ford Health.

What You Will Do

• Prepare and serve meals to patients, employees, and visitors with accuracy and care.
• Perform cashier duties, ensuring efficient and friendly customer service.
• Assist in diet office tasks, supporting dietary needs and meal planning.
• Manage inventory and supplies to maintain operational readiness.
• Handle dish room duties, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation standards are met.
• Complete other assigned tasks to support the food service team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or six (6) months to one (1) year of previous work experience in a food service or cash handling setting.
• Ability to read, write, speak English, and follow oral and written instructions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Personal computer and data entry skills.
