Development Intern

About the Role

The Development Intern will support the growth and improvement of Dailymattr’s digital products and user experience in a full-time, remote capacity. This position offers hands-on exposure to a fast-paced media and technology environment, with opportunities to learn and contribute to product, growth, and user engagement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in software development tasks.
• Write and test code.
• Help implement new features and enhancements across web or mobile platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional team members to understand requirements.
• Analyze user behavior and translate insights into product improvements.
• Contribute to documentation.
• Troubleshoot issues.
• Support basic integration work with internal tools.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Foundational software development and programming skills, with experience in at least one modern language or framework.
• Familiarity with web or mobile application development.
• Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git).
• Familiarity with debugging practices.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify patterns, and propose logical solutions.
• Effective communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication and collaborative teamwork.
• Interest or experience in sales and user growth, including understanding of basic sales funnels or user acquisition strategies.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage time effectively, and take initiative on assigned tasks.
• Current enrollment in or recent completion of a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
• Interest in digital media, news, and building habit-forming products, with a willingness to learn in a startup environment.
