Process Engineering Intern
Without®
About the Role
Without® is building one of India's first commercial-scale recycled materials plants. This is a greenfield project involving the design of a process for the first time, hands-on pilot plant work, and real calculations for decision-making. The Process Engineering Intern will learn how a plant is built.
Key Responsibilities
- Process Development: Work with R&D process engineers on the greenfield project behind Without®'s VerdiCycle technology.
- Process Calculations: Run mass and energy balances and other core process engineering calculations.
- Process Diagrams: Prepare and develop Block Flow Diagrams (BFDs) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs).
- Basic Engineering: Support preliminary equipment sizing, technical documentation, and process requirement evaluation.
- Pilot Plant: Engage in hands-on process development trials and manufacturing activities at the operational pilot plant.
- Cross-Functional Learning: Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams to understand operations and identify optimization opportunities.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Chemical Engineering principles and unit operations.
- Exposure to mass and energy balance calculations.
- Basic understanding of BFDs and PFDs.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving instinct.
- Genuine willingness to be on the shop floor.
Qualifications
- A completed B.Tech. or B.E. in Chemical Engineering.
- Preferred, not required: Familiarity with Aspen Plus, CHEMCAD, or similar simulation software.
- Preferred, not required: Exposure to equipment design, sizing, or pilot plant operations, or academic projects and internships in process design, simulation, or chemical manufacturing.
