About the Role
The Junior Data Scientist will support data-driven decision-making across logistics operations in a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and analyze operational and business data from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
- Build basic statistical and analytical models.
- Generate dashboards and visualizations.
- Prepare reports that translate complex findings into clear insights for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as operations, warehousing, and management to support forecasting, performance measurement, and process optimization initiatives.
- Assist in documenting methodologies.
- Maintain data quality standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the analytics function.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Skills in Data Science and Data Analytics for developing models and supporting data-driven decisions.
- Skills in Statistics and Data Analysis to interpret data, perform hypothesis testing, and derive actionable insights.
- Skills in Data Visualization to create clear dashboards and reports using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
- Strong proficiency in analytical tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL) for data manipulation and modeling is beneficial.
- Good understanding of databases, data structures, and basic ETL concepts is preferred.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, on-site environment and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Relevant internships or academic projects in analytics or logistics are an advantage.
