Financial Analyst I

About the Role

• Entry-level financial analyst position within the Budget & Analysis department.
• Location: Hybrid - Audubon, PA.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct budgeting and forecasting for at least one operating division at PJM.
• Develop forecasting methodologies and maintain ongoing communication with division management.
• Perform financial analysis and reporting on current and anticipated division activity, providing insights into variances and cost trends.
• Assist with monthly general ledger close.
• Prepare and/or enter journal entries.
• Coordinate project funding within SAP.
• Assist in the development of monthly financial reporting for the PJM Executive Team.
• Prepare forecasts and budgets for operational expenditures.
• Assist in developing financial analysis, reporting, and presentation information for PJM management, Finance Committee, Audit Committee, and PJM’s Board of Directors.
• Provide project financial data for budget and project presentation materials.
• Assist with analyzing project funding requests and ensuring appropriate Authorization for Capital (AFC).
• Ensure data integrity and accuracy for project portfolio funding requests.
• Analyze project postings for accuracy and investigate unusual postings.
• Maintain and update project system and pricing model desk procedures and internal controls documentation.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Microsoft Office Suite: Proficient in MS-Word, MS-Excel, and MS-PowerPoint.
• SAP knowledge, specifically CO and PS modules.
• Knowledge of MS-Excel pivot tables.
• Experience in Hyperion Planning.
• Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (or working towards) in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• Ability to efficiently use Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to produce high-quality work products with attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced team environment.
