About the Role

An opportunity to learn how businesses are built by building one yourself. At Thagai, we're building a new way for India to care for its ageing parents in a space with enormous potential and interesting problems. You will work on questions without ready-made answers, exploring how to build something people genuinely want, find the right customers, discover growth opportunities, turn ideas into repeatable businesses, and build scalable systems. You will explore these questions firsthand, working across growth, strategy, partnerships, and operations. You will have the opportunity to take ideas from a blank page to the real world, from researching opportunities and designing experiments to building relationships, launching initiatives, and figuring out what works. You will have the space to think independently, challenge assumptions, experiment with your ideas, and take ownership.

What You'll Work On

• Growth & Go-to-Market
• Plan and execute user & supply acquisition campaigns (e.g., social media, campus events) and help shape go-to-market strategy for new initiatives.
• Identify and test new channels and partnerships (e.g., college programs, community groups) to reach more older adults and families.
• Design and run growth experiments to understand acquisition, activation, and repeat participation drivers.
• Analyze results, identify what works, and build repeatable acquisition strategies.
• Business Operations
• Help build systems and processes for service reliability as the company grows.
• Improve the journey from discovering Thagai to joining the network and participating in the service.
• Identify operational bottlenecks, investigate causes, and implement solutions.
• Build simple workflows and tracking systems for consistent execution.
• Customer & Market Discovery
• Conduct user research: interview older adults, family members, and community partners to understand their needs, motivations, and challenges.
• Research the market, study alternative solutions, and identify opportunities for Thagai.
• Translate customer insights into better acquisition strategies, service experiences, and operating processes.
• Challenge assumptions and help make better decisions based on evidence.
• Strategic Projects
• Take ownership of important business problems as they emerge.
• Turn ambiguous challenges into structured plans and execute them.
• Work across growth, partnerships, operations, and customer experience based on business priorities.
• Measure outcomes, share learnings, and identify next improvement opportunities.

Who We're Looking For

Someone with the drive to make things happen, curiosity to ask better questions, and initiative to turn ideas into action. Evidence of taking initiative is valued, whether through building a community, starting a project, leading an initiative, organizing something from scratch, or improving something's functionality.

Previous startup experience is not required, but evidence of initiative is.

This is a paid, hybrid internship based in Chennai.
