About the Role
SAW R&D Integration Internships are offered in Skyworks' Technology & Manufacturing (TMG) business. Specific projects and responsibilities will be determined based on business needs at the time of the internship assignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design of experiments for surface acoustic wave filter process integration
- Optimization of metal-to-metal interfaces for improved ohmic losses and mechanical reliability
- Failure analysis of via interfaces by STEM, EDS, EELS, and other metrology
- Collaborate with fab process engineers and lab technicians
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Working toward a MS or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of plasma physics and semiconductor device physics.
- Background in semiconductor failure analysis and material characterization like SEM, STEM, EDS, etc.
- Understanding of material properties, interfaces, defects, and failure mechanisms.
- Familiarity with Python for scientific computing and data analysis.
- Strong communication/listening skills.
- Ability to work autonomously.
Desired Experience and Skills
- Experience with semiconductor equipment and fabrication processes (lithography, PVD, CVD, plasma etch, etc.).
- Knowledge of semiconductor device physics, process modeling, and physics-based simulation.
- Exposure to process development and material characterization.
- Skills in statistics and data analytics for process evaluation.
