About the Role

Assists Pharmacists to fill and dispense prescriptions for customers. Interacts with customers at the counter, retrieves prescriptions, and processes transactions. Manages inventory, including ordering and stocking drugs, supplies, and over-the-counter merchandise. Maintains patient records and inventory using a computerized system, and processes invoices. Provides high-level member service.

Key Responsibilities

• Assists customers at the counter, receives written prescriptions, and retrieves filled prescriptions.
• Processes payments, including cash, checks, credit, and debit charges.
• Assists Pharmacists in updating patient profiles and entering prescription information into the pharmacy computer, as permitted by State law.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• Answers phones and provides prompt and courteous member service, including answering questions at pharmacy windows and directing members to product locations.
• Assists Pharmacists in filling prescriptions by providing stock bottles, counting, pouring, re-stocking, labeling, and pricing prescriptions under direct Pharmacist supervision.
• Prepares third-party insurance claims, as permitted by State law.
• Processes invoices and makes accounting entries using a computerized system.
• Orders, receives, tags, and stocks prescription drugs and supplies, adhering to product storage procedures and standards.
• Orders, receives, tags, and stocks over-the-counter products in accordance with merchandising plans for the department.
• Creates product signs.
• Cleans the department, including sweeping, mopping, spraying, wiping, dusting, and trash removal.
• Operates a trash compactor and cardboard baler.
• Follows security and safety procedures, including securing the department and properly storing or disposing of confidential documents, immunization supplies, and hazardous waste.
• Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Operates vehicles, equipment, or machinery.
• Assists with department duties as necessary.
• Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.

Qualifications
