About the Role
The Underwriting Internship (Financial Lines) at MSIG USA offers hands-on experience and valuable exposure to Financial Lines insurance products. You will be guided by industry experts, assisting in evaluating risk, crafting policies, and making strategic decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Risk Assessment and Analysis: Assist in evaluating financial statements, credit reports, and industry trends to assess the risk profiles of potential clients.
- Underwriting Assistance: Support underwriting for new and renewal business in Financial Lines insurance, helping determine coverage terms and conditions.
- Data-Driven Decisions: Analyze reports and industry data to understand how financial insights influence underwriting strategies.
- Collaborate with Experts: Work closely with teams in claims, legal, and finance to gain a well-rounded understanding of underwriting challenges and solutions.
- Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and gain the knowledge needed to build a successful career in underwriting.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for understanding financial data.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Eagerness to learn and tackle challenges head-on.
Program Dates: June 7, 2027 - August 13, 2027
3 Day Induction: June 7 - June 9, 2027 (location, Warren, NJ)
Hybrid Schedule: Minimum 4 days in the office per week
Compensation: Hourly rate of $25.00
