About the Role
Select Sires Inc. is seeking a Corporate Communications Intern to join their team in Plain City, Ohio. This is a temporary, full-time, hourly, non-exempt position.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a positive representation of the Select Sires, Inc. Mission and Core Values.
- Production of Select Sires’ yearly breeding calendars.
- Writing press releases and customer testimonials.
- Help coordinate trade show logistics and materials.
- Assist with desktop publishing projects, including advertisements, brochures, and flyers.
- Perform clerical duties.
- Participate in photoshoots.
Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Schedules and duties are subject to change.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Strong grammar and writing skills.
- Focus on details.
- Basic journalism and/or public relations knowledge.
- Experience with desktop design (Adobe Creative Suite).
- Knowledge of Associated Press Style is a plus.
Qualifications
- Major in communications, or in dairy- or animal-science with a communications focus, or a related area of study.
- Familiarity with dairy cattle pedigrees.
- Students in their junior or senior year are preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Sitting or standing/walking constantly (6-8 hours).
- Seldomly (0-1 hours): floor lift (0-17"), knee lift (18"-29"), waist lift (30"-36"), chest lift (37"-60"), overhead lift (>60"), push/pull or carry up to 20 lbs.
- Seldomly (0-1 hours): climb stairs, squat/kneel, crawl, twist, or bend/stoop.
