Platform Software Engineer 2

About the Role

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in designing, developing, testing, and supporting Java-based microservices and cloud-native applications. You will build and maintain infrastructure automation with Terraform and Docker, troubleshoot complex production and performance issues, and maintain automated tests using JUnit. You will use AI-assisted development tools effectively and collaborate across global teams to deliver secure, reliable, and maintainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and support Java-based microservices and cloud-native applications.
• Build and maintain infrastructure automation using Terraform and containerized deployments using Docker.
• Investigate and resolve complex production, integration, and performance issues.
• Develop and maintain automated tests using JUnit.
• Use Codex or similar AI-assisted development tools effectively for coding, debugging, test creation, and documentation.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across time zones to deliver secure, reliable, and maintainable solutions.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong Java development and microservices experience.
• Good understanding of cloud platforms, Docker, Terraform, REST APIs, and CI/CD practices.
• Basic working knowledge of Python and Go.
• JUnit for automated testing.
• AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Codex).
• Exceptional troubleshooting, debugging, and root-cause analysis skills.
• Ability to independently own deliverables, communicate technical issues clearly, and collaborate across time zones.

Qualifications

• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) certification or a good understanding of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is an added advantage.
