Security Officer

Key Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to clients, customers, and co-workers.
• Guard posts, including building lobbies or reception areas.
• Conduct hourly foot patrols of interior and exterior to check entrances, doors, windows, and vents for security (includes climbing stairs).
• Monitor surroundings on closed-circuit television.
• Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas.
• Check employee and vendor identifications.
• Look for suspicious persons, packages, and activities.
• May provide first aid or other medical treatment in emergency situations.
• May operate x-ray and/or metal detection equipment.
• Follow site-specific post guidelines.
• Report potentially hazardous conditions and items in need of repair, including lighting, plumbing, and wet floors.
• Document daily activities and incident reports.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Ability to use a smart mobile phone or computer to check emails and complete online training.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent education certification (GED).
• Must pass a drug screening at the time of hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana), due to federal government contracts.
• Must not have been convicted of any felonies.
• Must not have been convicted of any misdemeanors related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances (including for marijuana), or two or more alcohol-related offenses.
• Must be able to sit, stand, and walk, including up and down stairs, for 8-12 hours at a time.
• Must be able to see clearly at least 20 feet away (assisted with glasses or contact lenses if necessary).
• Must be able to hear conversations in loud environments either in-person or via radio.
• Must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be professional and possess excellent customer service skills.
• Must have excellent personal integrity and a positive attitude.
• Must complete required trainings on time and adhere to all client and company policies.
• Uniformed Security Officers are responsible for protecting the site’s building, grounds, assets, employees, students, and visitors against criminal activity, accidents, fires, and natural disasters.

Compensation

• Rate of Pay: $17.65/hour.

Schedule

• ACA Full Time: Monday Through Thursday - 1st Shift.

• Monroe, MI.
