Product Design Intern

About the Role

As a Product Design Intern, you will contribute to the design and development of UAV mechanical systems while learning from senior engineers. You will be responsible for creating CAD models, performing structural checks, and supporting prototyping and testing. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in aerospace product development and grow into a key contributor on mission-critical projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in designing and developing UAV mechanical structures and mechanisms.
• Create high-quality 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings.
• Perform basic structural analysis to support design validation.
• Support prototyping and iterative testing of UAV subsystems.
• Collaborate with avionics, propulsion, and systems teams during integration.
• Document engineering activities, including design logs, BOMs, and test data.
• Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback into designs.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, etc.) and FEA tools (ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation).
• Strong foundation in structural mechanics, materials, composites, and lightweight design.
• Exposure to FEA tools and composites (academic or internship experience).

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
• Experience in mechanical design (internships, projects, or academic research count).
• Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn.
• Good communication and collaboration abilities.
