About the Role
As a full stack Associate Software Development Engineer Intern, you'll partner with senior level engineers to help design, build, and maintain software across the application stack from user-facing interfaces to APIs, data stores, and cloud infrastructure. You'll write well-tested, maintainable code, take part in code reviews, and use AI coding assistants to accelerate delivery while critically evaluating AI-generated output for correctness and security. You’ll also collaborate with product managers, designers, and peer engineers is essential to create resilient, scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Full Software Development Lifecycle
- Build features end-to-end, with guidance from your team, from design through deployment—across front-end (React/Angular/Vue) and back-end (REST/GraphQL, microservices) solutions
- Contribute to system design discussions: learn how the team evaluates architectural trade-offs and help define data models, API contracts, and cloud-native and persistence approaches for your project
- Write comprehensive tests, follow coding standards, and review code—including AI-generated code—for security, performance, and maintainability.
- Develop, maintain, and execute automated test suites to validate software functionality, catch defects early,
- Use and help maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code, learn to monitor systems in production, and support incident response, including for AI-integrated components
- Partner with product managers, designers, and platform teams to scope and deliver features, document your work clearly, and explain trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements & Tech Stack
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field; with a graduation date no earlier than May 2028
- Must be available to work full-time hours, for a 12-week period, either May – August or June – September in 2027
- Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry.
- Full-stack development skills: Exposure through coursework, personal projects, internships, or hackathons to front-end frameworks (React/Angular/Vue), back-end languages (Node.js, Python, Java, Go), databases, REST/GraphQL APIs, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), plus comfort adopting emerging AI/ML tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Foundational systems thinking: Exposure to software architecture concepts, API design, databases, or distributed systems through coursework or projects
- Software engineering fundamentals: Familiar with writing clean, secure, well-tested code, along with understanding of how to treat code review as a quality practice.
- AI fluency: Exposure to AI coding assistants (Copilot, Cursor, Codeium, etc) and LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, open-weight models) to build features, and understanding the need for sound judgment when reviewing AI-generated code for correctness and security.
- Technical communication: Ability to break down requirements into actionable tasks and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
