About the Role

As an AI Product Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams and leaders to design, build, and deploy AI-powered software that solves real-world problems. This is a highly hands-on role with ownership across the full product lifecycle, from understanding customer needs to shipping production-grade AI applications. You’ll contribute directly to live projects used by governments, healthcare systems, and industrial partners, turning cutting-edge AI into reliable, scalable products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build & Ship Real Products:
  • Design and develop AI-powered features across front-end, back-end, and data workflows.
  • Prototype and ship internal tools and customer-facing applications using modern web technologies.
  • Translate Problems into Products:
  • Work with product managers and other engineers to turn customer problems into clear product requirements and integrate AI models into real-world software systems.
  • Optimize & Improve:
  • Improve the performance, reliability, and usability of deployed applications.
  • Analyze data, evaluate AI outputs, and iterate based on real customer feedback.
  • Make a Real Impact:
  • Own work that modernizes government workflows, improves healthcare outcomes, or optimizes critical infrastructure.
  • See your work deployed and used by real users—not just internal demos.

Requirements & Tech Stack

  • Strong software development fundamentals demonstrated through internships, research, substantial coursework, or personal projects.
  • Ability to build software using several of: Python, TypeScript, React, REST APIs, SQL, and cloud platforms.
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of AI systems and product thinking.
  • Excitement for real-world machine learning applications.
  • Enjoyment in solving ambiguous problems and learning quickly in fast-paced environments.
  • Clear communication, good collaboration, and ownership of your work.
  • Excitement to work directly on impactful problems rather than purely theoretical projects.

Qualifications

  • Expect to complete a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field in Spring 2027.
