Retail Sales Associate

About the Role

FirstCash is seeking entry-level, full-time Retail Sales Associates for their pawn store locations nationwide. This role partners with the entire store staff to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. The associate will greet, engage, and interact with customers in a positive and professional manner to process sales, loans, and other transactions. The role thrives on engaging with customers, assisting with inquiries, and problem resolution. Associates will work with a wide variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, and firearms (in FFL locations). The position offers an hourly wage, plus commission based on productivity.

Hourly wage: $16.50 to $19.50

Commission potential: UP TO 8% on transactions, averaging an additional $1.04 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Greets and interacts with all customers to develop a rapport for better customer service and recommendations.
• Performs non-management open/close procedures.
• Keeps the sales floor clean, stocked, and maintains the display of merchandise.
• Performs sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Handles all cash and negotiable items in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Answers incoming calls per company standards.
• Effectively communicates the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
• Communicates effectively with coworkers and managers.
• Partners with all employees to create a positive and memorable customer experience.
• Successfully completes assigned training.
• Other related duties, as assigned.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be willing and able to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
• Ability to assist customers on the exterior of the building and retrieve products from exterior storage.
• Minimum Age: 18 years old
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
• Strong desire to work, serve customers, work with people, and be team-oriented.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations proficiently.
• Cash handling experience is preferred.
• Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
• Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Computer literate and able to operate Point-Of-Sale (POS) systems and common office machines.

Commission Plan Information

• Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2-8% commission, based on the gross profit of their personal performance.
