Insurance Operations Associate

Wert Group is hiring an Insurance Operations Associate for work with insurance carriers and agencies. This is a full-time, remote position from anywhere in the United States.

Wert Group is a management consulting firm based in Boston, advising on strategy, organization design, operating models, and governance, including companies with operations in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

Key Responsibilities

• Review samples of claims and policy files and record how each case was handled.
• Map underwriting and claims workflows, including hand-offs and approval steps.
• Measure cycle times, reopen rates, and error rates from client data.
• Check files against the client's procedures and state rules, and note the gaps.
• Prepare tables and charts for client reports and steering committee papers.
• Take notes in interviews with adjusters, underwriters, and service teams.
• Keep the project's document and data request log up to date.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Experience in insurance, claims, underwriting support, or a similar operations role (internships included).
• Careful with details and comfortable reading long documents.
• Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong written English.

Qualifications

• A property and casualty or life and health license (Nice to Have)
• A bachelor's degree in business, finance, or economics (Nice to Have)
• German (Nice to Have)

You will work with consultants and the project lead on each engagement, and with claims and underwriting managers on the client side.
