About the Role
This on-site position involves working closely with the design team, sales representatives, and customers to create structural designs and prototype samples that meet customer needs. The internship offers the opportunity to learn about:
- Various types of paperboard materials and carton layouts/styles.
- The basics of using Artios CAD (similar to AutoCAD).
- Operating a sample maker and plotter.
- Conceptualizing designs in 3D and viewing them in a flat format.
Part-time, flexible hours will be offered to accommodate school schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the design team to complete daily tasks.
- Use the CAD system to restore designs and plot them on the CAD table.
- Assist with packaging design.
- Cut out prototypes using the sample maker.
- Work cross-functionally to support projects related to packaging materials.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Technical degree program in a related field.
- Good understanding of geometry and mathematics for calculating angles and lines of multi-sided shapes.
- Proficient in computer software, including CAD software, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
