AI & PRODUCT ENGINEERING INTERN
Savytics
About the Role
Savytics is an early-stage, bootstrapped AI-native company building intelligent products and practical AI solutions. We are looking for an AI & Product Engineering Intern who is excited about applying AI to real problems and learning through hands-on development. You will contribute to Mindmetric and other AI-driven initiatives, while collaborating on shared product engineering and technical infrastructure when appropriate. You will work with the founder, receive guidance, and learn how to evaluate, integrate, and deploy AI capabilities in usable products.
Key Responsibilities
- Prototype and develop AI-powered product features.
- Experiment with LLM APIs, prompt design, structured outputs, and AI workflows.
- Support data processing, API integrations, and backend implementation.
- Evaluate model outputs, test edge cases, and improve reliability.
- Help build retrieval, automation, or data workflows where relevant to the roadmap.
- Document experiments, technical decisions, and implementation results.
- Collaborate on product development, testing, and deployment.
- Explore product usability or communicate project progress when useful.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Basic Python programming skills or equivalent programming experience.
- Interest in artificial intelligence, machine learning, LLMs, or automation.
- Familiarity with APIs, JSON, and basic data handling, or willingness to learn.
- Analytical thinking, experimentation, and attention to detail.
- Ability to document findings and communicate progress in a remote team.
- Personal AI projects, notebooks, GitHub repositories, or relevant coursework are a plus.
- Knowledge of embeddings, RAG, vector databases, or model evaluation is an advantage, not a requirement.
- Interest in product design, UI/UX, or technical content is an additional advantage.
Qualifications
- Strong Product Engineering skills, including understanding of product lifecycles and translating user needs into technical requirements.
- Solid Analytical Skills to interpret data, evaluate product performance, and support decision-making with clear insights.
- Effective Communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams, documenting work, and presenting ideas clearly.
- Foundational Software Development skills in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) and familiarity with version control tools.
- Basic Project Management skills, such as organizing tasks, working within timelines, and contributing in agile or iterative environments.
- Interest or coursework in AI/ML, data structures and algorithms; exposure to AI frameworks or APIs is a plus.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, show initiative and adapt to a fast-paced, experimental environment.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
This is an unpaid, learning-focused internship.
