Summer 2027 Intern

About the Role

The Assurant Internship Program is a 12-week immersive experience where interns tackle business challenges and drive meaningful outcomes. The program combines hands-on work with learning and development opportunities, mentorship, networking, and engagement opportunities. This internship is designed for current students and soon-to-be college graduates seeking a well-rounded introduction to and experience in Information Technology, focusing on Agile Application Development. It is a paid internship consisting of one semester focused on software engineering, application development, code quality, and automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, Develop, and Support applications in various languages and disciplines.
• Collaborate with product owners, engineers, designers, and business partners to ensure development work meets business needs and expectations.
• Research, solve, and engage others as necessary to design solutions that result in desired business outcomes.
• Aid in production issues for applications supported by the department or functional area.
• Prepare documentation on work produced for smooth handoff to other team members.

Requirements & Tech Stack

Assurant utilizes a vast technology stack. Coursework or example code relevant to the following areas is expected:

• AI usage with CoPilot, Claude, and/or Rovo building skills and agents.
• Internal and External integrations for authentication and authorization utilizing webhooks and service accounts.
• Observability tooling such as Datadog and Dynatrace.
• Azure or AWS Cloud Hosting.
• Azure DevOps or Jira Project Management tooling.
• Development languages and frameworks such as .NET, React, Angular, Android, iOS, Oracle, and QA Automation.

Education

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Information Systems or a related program at an accredited university.
• Interns will have at least one semester remaining following the summer internship.
• Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2029.

• Duration: 12 weeks
• Start Date: 5/17/2027
• End Date: 8/7/2027
• Location: Hybrid Opportunity: Miami, Atlanta or Chicago (team dependent)
• Pay: $20 - $25/hour
