About the Role
Role: Medical Scribe
Department: Spine & Brain Surgeons
Location: Providence Medical Building, 22250 Providence Drive, Southfield MI 48075-4825
Work Schedule: Full-Time (40 Hours Per Week), Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
General Summary
Assists provider by documenting the provider-patient encounter during the patient exam exactly as it is verbalized.
Key Responsibilities
- Accompanies provider into the patient examination room to document the provider's encounter with the patient.
- Lists all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions as indicated by the provider.
- Transcribes patient orders including but not limited to laboratory tests, radiology tests and medications.
- Documents procedures performed by the provider.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency
- OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
