Risk Management Student Intern

About the Role

Encompass Health is a growing national inpatient rehabilitation leader. The Risk Management Student Intern will be assigned to an appropriate department and scheduled to work for a designated period of time. The intern will be responsible for all assigned work, projects, and other duties as assigned by the manager. If participating in the company-wide summer internship program, the intern will be required to participate in all activities and the final presentation at the end of the program.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with data collection and analysis and preparation of tracking and trending reports
• Assist Professional/General Liability team with claims management
• Assist Worker's Compensation team with claims management
• Assist Insurance team with analysis, renewals, check processing, and other various tasks
• Research and draft articles related to employee and patient safety
• Research and coordinate special projects as deemed appropriate
• Complete all tasks and assignments accurately and timely
• Proactively seek to learn about the company and the department
• Participate in all intern-specific activities (if applicable)
• Create presentations and present on job skills learned (if applicable)

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite

Qualifications

• Must be actively enrolled in a college or university (Junior/Senior level students are preferred)
• Must have an interest in the department in which they are interning
• Class experience in prospective field is preferred
• Must be able to work in our Home Office in Birmingham, Alabama from Monday, June 7th, 2027, to Friday, July 30, 2027
