About the Role
The EU International Technology (EU INTech) charter for Partner Growth and Experiences (PGX) aims to deliver coherent and personalized experiences for Selling Partners (SP) and Amazon teams. This enables them to manage their business growth across Amazon WW stores as a single-store experience, benefiting Amazon customers by accelerating Amazon flywheel.
The mission is to delight Customers and enable the long-term success of Selling Partners by building trusted shopping experiences and a suite of services, tools, and experiences that drive efficiency, growth, and transparency for both Selling Partners and internal Retail teams, throughout their selling journey and across regions.
PGX is seeking an Applied Scientist with a machine learning background to help build and/or enhance partner-facing experiences, making them efficient and less human-dependent. The focus is on leveraging Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) across owned experiences, with an emphasis on Natural Language Processing (NLP).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop novel algorithms and modeling techniques to advance the state-of-the-art in AI and human language technology.
- Directly impact end customers and selling partners through the development of products and services.
- Gain hands-on experience with Amazon’s AI and ML solutions and models, structured data sources, and large-scale computing resources.
- Fully automate selling partner-facing experiences, using human judgment only when absolutely required.
- Perform hands-on data analysis and modeling with large data sets to develop insights that increase device usage and customer experience.
- Use a broad range of data structures and algorithms to quantify business impact and develop offline code for new statistics or applications.
- Run A/B experiments and evaluate the impact of their optimizations.
- Work closely with other scientists, software development engineers, and program and product managers to design experiments and implement end-to-end solutions.
- Communicate results to various business stakeholders.
- Set up and monitor alarms to detect anomalous data patterns and perform root cause analyses.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or a related language.
- Experience with SQL and an RDBMS (e.g., Oracle) or Data Warehouse.
- Experience building large-scale, high-performing systems.
- Experience implementing algorithms using both toolkits and self-developed code.
Qualifications
- Publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
