AI4M builds AI for manufacturing machines. Their platforms include:

• vaénable (computer vision and edge AI for perception)
• enableAI (physics-informed neural network digital twins)
• Think4m (on-premise small language model assistant with RAG)

These platforms help manufacturers transition from monitoring machines to running them autonomously, following their Observe → Analyze → Act framework. AI4M is deployed with pharmaceutical, FMCG, and industrial customers in India and Europe.

About the Role

This role is an entry point to a career as a Functional Consultant in AI-enabled machine controls. As a Graduate Engineer Trainee, you will learn about real pharma machines and processes, and how AI4M's platforms enhance predictability, compliance, and autonomy. You will work on live customer projects from your initial months.

Key Responsibilities

• Learn the machine and the process:
• Understand pharma machine operation, states, alarms, recipes, and changeovers by spending time on customer lines and with machine OEMs.
• Learn the basics of GMP, data integrity (ALCOA+), and validation processes.
• Gain hands-on experience with AI4M's vaénable, enableAI, and Think4m platforms.
• Support discovery and requirements:
• Assist with site visits and customer workshops, documenting current-state processes, losses, and reject causes.
• Help draft User Requirement Specifications (URS), Functional Specifications (FS), and requirement traceability matrices.
• Collect and organize machine data, including PLC tags, OPC-UA nodes, camera images, and sensor signals.
• Support delivery and validation:
• Help configure inspection recipes, dashboards, and assistant knowledge bases, and test them.
• Prepare test scripts and evidence for FAT/SAT and IQ/OQ/PQ, following GAMP 5.
• Write user guides and training material, and assist in training operators.
• Measure and improve:
• Track post-go-live results such as OEE, first-pass yield, and reject rates, and prepare simple analyses (including SPC / Cp/Cpk).
• Feed field observations back to product and engineering teams.

Your First Year

• Months 0–3 – Foundation: Induction to AI4M platforms, pharma machines, GMP, and validation basics; lab work and shadowing on a live project.
• Months 4–9 – Contribution: Take ownership of defined project tasks such as data mapping, URS/FS sections, test scripts, or training material.
• Months 10–12 – Ownership: Handle a small scope end-to-end under supervision, present results to customers, and complete your traineeship review.

Qualifications

• Education: B.E./B.Tech or M.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Electronics, Production, or Pharmaceutical Engineering, with a sound academic record.
• Core Skills:
• Basic understanding of PLCs, sensors, drives, and industrial automation.
• Genuine interest in manufacturing and machines.
• Curiosity about AI/ML and data.
• Comfort with Excel or basic Python.
• Clear written and spoken English; structured note-taking and documentation habits.
• Willingness: To travel to customer sites and work in GMP clean areas.
• Good to have:
• Internship, final-year project, or certification in PLC programming (Siemens, B&R, Rockwell), SCADA/HMI, machine vision, or IoT.
• Exposure to pharma, FMCG, or packaging plants.
• Awareness of OPC-UA, MQTT, PackML, or ISA-95.
• Proficiency in Hindi, Marathi, or other Indian languages; a European language is a plus.
