Product Merchandising Internship in Bangalore

About the Role

BoxUp Luxury Gifting is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and proactive Product Merchandiser Intern to join its New Product Development (NPD) team. The intern will support the conceptualization, designing, research, development, sourcing, and launch of new products, including gifting products and packaging solutions. This role is for individuals interested in combining creativity, product design, market research, and execution to transform new ideas into market-ready products.

Key Responsibilities

• New Product Design & Concept Development
• Assist in conceptualizing and designing new gifting products, packaging, and customized gifting solutions.
• Research creative product ideas, materials, colours, patterns, and design trends.
• Develop product concepts based on market trends, customer preferences, and business requirements.
• Coordinate with the Design team to develop product mock-ups, prototypes, and samples.
• Support the development of innovative product collections from initial idea to final design.
• Suggest improvements in product design, functionality, presentation, and cost.
• Market Research & Trend Analysis
• Research market trends, competitor products, and emerging gifting concepts.
• Identify new product opportunities in corporate gifting, lifestyle products, accessories, and packaging.
• Study customer preferences and gather references to support new product ideas.
• Maintain a collection of design inspirations, product references, and market research findings.
• Product Development & Merchandising
• Assist in developing new products from concept to sample and finalization.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to explore product possibilities, materials, and customization options.
• Track product development timelines and follow up on pending activities.
• Assist in reviewing samples for design, quality, functionality, and suitability.
• Maintain product specifications, dimensions, materials, colours, and other relevant details.
• Vendor & Sample Coordination
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain product samples, quotations, and specifications.
• Follow up on sample development, revisions, and approvals.
• Compare product options based on quality, design, pricing, and feasibility.
• Maintain sample trackers and vendor databases.
• Product Costing & Documentation
• Assist in preparing product costing sheets and comparing vendor quotations.
• Maintain product pricing, specifications, images, and sourcing details.
• Prepare product presentations, catalogues, product sheets, and internal reports.
• Ensure product development records and documentation are accurate and updated.
• Cross-Functional Coordination
• Work closely with Design, Procurement, Sales, Production, and Logistics teams.
• Coordinate feedback and revisions during product development.
• Support product readiness and preparation for new product launches.
• Assist with other NPD-related activities as required.
