The Role
Clark is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer (E2) to work directly with customers, build technical solutions for deployment and usage of Clark, and bridge the gap between engineering and customers. This role is suitable for early-career engineers who enjoy technical problem-solving and customer interaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Work directly with customers during onboarding and implementation
- Understand customer workflows and translate requirements into technical solutions
- Configure and deploy Clark solutions in customer environments
- Build lightweight integrations and internal tooling
- Investigate customer issues and partner with engineering for resolution
- Test product features and provide implementation feedback
- Document implementation processes and best practices
- Support customer launches and deployments
- Collaborate with engineers, product, and founders on customer needs
- Grow to own larger implementation projects
Requirements & Tech Stack
- 0-3 years of software engineering, implementation, solutions engineering, or technical experience
- Comfortable writing code in Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar languages
- Strong curiosity and willingness to learn quickly
- Clear communicator who enjoys working directly with customers
- Ability to break down technical concepts into simple explanations
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving startup environment
- Strong ownership mindset and bias toward action
Nice to Have
- Internship or professional experience building software products
- Experience working with APIs
- Experience with AI tools, LLMs, or workflow automation
- Experience with SQL, data analysis, or business operations tooling
- Startup experience
- Customer-facing experience
What Success Looks Like (Within 6 Months)
- Successfully support multiple customer deployments
- Become proficient in Clark's product and infrastructure
- Independently handle well-defined implementation tasks
- Build internal tools and automations that improve customer operations
- Develop strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders

Compensation Range
$100K - $130K
