About the Role
YourNest Venture Capital is seeking a hands-on builder for a two-month internship to finalize and launch the Founder Resource Portal for their portfolio founders.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the Founder Front End (used by portfolio founders behind a login to browse resources, playbooks, templates, and request access/intros/expert time).
- Own the Analyst Back End (used by YourNest analysts and associates to manage founder accounts, handle requests, and track engagement).
- Own the CMS (used by the YourNest team to add, edit, tag, and publish resources without touching code).
- Own the Database (powering all three platforms with founder, company, resource, request, access, and usage data).
- Build, Fix & Launch:
- Read the codebase, document its functionality, and fix any fragile elements in the alpha.
- Review and tighten the database schema, ensuring data, roles, and access rules are robust and founder data remains private.
- Improve the founder front-end, including navigation, search, request flows, and mobile usability.
- Build out the analyst back-end to enable the team to manage founders, requests, and access independently.
- Make the CMS user-friendly for associates to publish and update resources without assistance, and load content clusters.
- Run pilot testing with a group of founders and analysts, incorporating their feedback into fixes.
- Produce clean documentation for handover to the next owner.
Timeline & KPIs
- Weeks 1–2: Onboard, audit the alpha, and review schema and stack.
- KPI: Written audit and prioritised fix list, agreed with the team by the end of week 2.
- Weeks 3–5: Build and fix across the front end, back end, and CMS.
- KPI: Beta with 2–3 content clusters live by the end of week 5.
- Weeks 6–7: Pilot with selected founders and analysts.
- KPI: Feedback from founders and analysts logged, and key issues fixed, by the end of week 7.
- Week 8: Stabilise and hand over.
- KPI: Release-ready portal, handover documentation, and a walkthrough by the end of week 8.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Experience: Shipped a working web app end-to-end, covering front end, back end, and database (personal projects, hackathons, or previous internships count).
- AI Coding Tools: Fluent with Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar; able to read, debug, and judge AI-generated code.
- Tech Stack: Comfortable with a modern web stack including JavaScript/TypeScript, React or Next.js, Node or Python, and SQL databases like Postgres.
- Security: Understands login, user roles, and access control to maintain founder data privacy.
- Mindset: Ability to quickly learn a new codebase, write clear documentation, work independently, flag problems early, and communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical teammates.
Good to Have
- Experience with a headless CMS or simple admin tools.
- Basic cloud deployment experience with Vercel, Supabase, AWS, OCI, or similar.
- A good eye for UI/UX.
- Interest in startups, deep tech, or venture capital.
