AI / Machine Learning Consultant

About the Role

Seeking an experienced AI / Machine Learning Consultant for a short-term freelance contract through the end of 2026. This role involves identifying, evaluating, prototyping, and assessing AI opportunities within a Finance environment, collaborating with business and technical stakeholders. The objective is to explore modern AI capabilities, validate use cases, and support AI/ML solution adoption.

Project & Team Context

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and assess high-value AI and machine learning use cases within Finance.
• Develop and prototype AI/ML solutions to validate business opportunities.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and development tools.
• Build, train, deploy, and optimise machine learning models.
• Translate business challenges into AI solutions with stakeholders.
• Provide recommendations on enterprise AI adoption, governance, and scalability.
• Support proof-of-concepts and technical assessments.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, including:
• Notebooks
• MLflow
• Delta Lake
• Proven experience developing, training, and deploying machine learning models.
• Strong knowledge of modern AI technologies, including:
• Large Language Models (LLMs)
• Generative AI
• Natural Language Processing (NLP)
• Computer Vision
• Experience with AWS cloud services, including:
• SageMaker
• Bedrock
• Lambda
• S3
• Experience evaluating and prototyping enterprise AI/ML solutions.
• Ability to engage with both business and technical stakeholders.
• Strong communication and consulting skills.

Qualifications

• Experience with emerging AI-powered development tools such as Genie and Kiro (preferred).
• Experience delivering AI initiatives within Finance environments (preferred).
• Exposure to enterprise AI governance and adoption frameworks (preferred).
