About the Role
V2X is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineering Analyst to support multidisciplinary engineering teams in evaluating hardware designs for structural, vibration, and thermal performance, including potential computational fluid dynamics (CFD) applications. The successful candidate will conduct analyses using finite element analysis (FEA), hand calculations, and internally developed analysis tools, while preparing technical documentation and concise summaries of analysis methods and results. Working under the guidance of supervisors and technical leads, the Mechanical Engineering Analyst will apply foundational engineering principles, follow established processes and procedures, and contribute to project and program milestones.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting engineering teams by performing mechanical analyses in both structural (stress, vibration) and thermal domains, which may include CFD. Analyses may be conducted using hand calculations and/or finite element modeling (FEM).
- Assisting in the preparation of results summaries and technical documentation for analysis activities.
- Applying engineering knowledge and participating as a member of a multi-discipline team.
- Contributing to the completion of project/program milestones under the general guidance of the immediate supervisor and team leaders.
- Following established Mechanical Engineering processes and procedures.
- FEA responsibilities will include geometry preparation, mesh generation, boundary condition and solution parameter definition, model execution, and post-processing of three-dimensional models using commercial software.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) (potential applications)
- Finite Element Modeling (FEM)
- Hand Calculations
