About the Role
Apple Montessori Schools is seeking a Teacher Assistant for their Infant, Toddler, and Preschool programs in Shrewsbury, NJ. This role offers the opportunity to build a career in Early Childhood Education by supporting children's exploration, growth, and independence within a Montessori environment. Teacher Assistants provide warmth, encouragement, and guidance to help children gain confidence and curiosity.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment for all students.
- Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to support and implement lesson plans.
- Maintain accurate student records and assist with family communication.
- Encourage positive self-image while supporting individuality, independence, and creativity.
- Model appropriate social behavior and actively engage with students.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, trainings, and mentorship programs.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- High School Diploma or GED.
- CPR / First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
- A genuine love of children.
- Physically able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children.
- An understanding of health and safety guidelines.
- Capacity to multi-task and function in an ever-changing environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Qualifications
- Work Location: Shrewsbury, NJ
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 1:00 PM to 6:30 PM
- Salary: $17.00/hour
