Field Service Engineer (Mumbai / Pune)

About the Role

As a Field Service Engineer, you are responsible for supporting client needs in Maharashtra, directly impacting patient health and overall well-being. This is a territory-based position requiring travel within your designated territory. Ideally, you are based in Mumbai or Pune.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on STERIS and related product lines. This includes disassembling, replacing, or repairing defective parts; rewiring or reassembling; troubleshooting, adjusting/calibrating, and certifying equipment using standard and specialized tools and test equipment (e.g., schematics, diagrams, technical manuals).
• Troubleshoot, repair, modify, overhaul, or refurbish standard and special purpose equipment and systems components.
• Maintain and build strong working relationships with Service team members, Region Manager, Service Manager, and the Sales Team. Advise on activities and changes related to sales opportunities in the territory.
• Develop and maintain effective, communicative relationships with customers, managers, support functions, and the sales and dealer organization. Communicate activities to customers regarding scheduling for Preventive Maintenance and estimated time of arrival for unscheduled work.
• Utilize provided product and industry knowledge to exceed customer expectations.
• Actively seek continuing education opportunities to reinforce and support STERIS's overall Sales & Service strategies.
• Support dealers in response to customer and sales questions regarding equipment operation and performance.
• Utilize customer protocols when entering and exiting facilities and abide by all Health & Safety protocols.
• Assist and conduct Dealer Service Training and End User training.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or related field.
• Adequate years of field working experience in hospital and medical equipment servicing and maintenance.
• Experience in troubleshooting, repair, modify, overhaul, or refurbish standard and special purpose equipment and systems components.
• Comfortable working in environments requiring Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Willingness to travel for job purposes.
