Mechatronics Engineer

Role Overview

The Mechatronics Engineer will contribute to the design, manufacturing, integration, and testing of robotic systems, with responsibilities spanning mechanical assemblies, electromechanical actuation, sensors, embedded hardware, and system-level troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

• Mechanical Design: Research, design, and optimize robotic chassis, depth-rated enclosures, mounts, mechanisms, and transmission systems.
• Electromechanical Integration: Integrate motors, BLDC drives, actuators, sensors, encoders, and control and communication hardware.
• Prototyping & Testing: Assemble prototypes, conduct bench and field tests, troubleshoot failures, and implement design improvements.
• Manufacturing & Documentation: Prepare CAD models, engineering drawings, BOMs, circuit diagrams, and assembly documentation.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with mechanical, electronics, and software teams to develop and validate reliable robotic systems.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong fundamentals in mechanical design, electronics, and electromechanical systems.
• Hands-on experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or equivalent.
• Understanding of motors, actuators, motor drivers, sensors, power distribution, and control systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, circuit diagrams, datasheets, and technical documentation.
• Practical troubleshooting skills across mechanical and electrical subsystems.
• Willingness to build, assemble, test, and modify physical prototypes.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with robotics, automation, AMRs, ROVs, or other electromechanical products.
• Familiarity with STM32, Arduino, NVIDIA Jetson, Raspberry Pi, or similar platforms.
• Exposure to communication interfaces such as CAN, UART, SPI, I²C, and Ethernet.
• Experience with BLDC motors, motor controllers, batteries, and power electronics.
• Basic familiarity with PCB design, circuit design, or embedded development.

Tools & Technologies

• Mechanical CAD: SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or equivalent.
• Embedded Development: STM32CubeIDE, Arduino IDE, or equivalent.
• Electronics Design: Altium Designer, KiCad, Eagle, or equivalent.
• Prototyping & Testing: Relevant workshop experience in manufacturing, assembly, and test equipment.

Engagement & Compensation

• Compensation: +₹4.8 LPA based on experience.
• Work Location: Flexible across Chennai, Mumbai, or remote, based on business requirements.
• Mobility: Willingness to relocate or transition between on-site and remote work.
