About the Role
The Food and Nutrition Associate (FSA I) maintains a sanitary and organized environment within the dishroom, janitor closet, and patient food carts. This role involves delivering food carts to patient floors, distributing trays, and returning carts to the dishroom, as well as tending and loading the dish machine and performing department janitorial duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect patient dirty food carts.
- Break down patient food carts.
- Monitor and record the dishmachine wash and rinse temperature, taking appropriate action as needed.
- Tend and load the dishmachine with patient, cafeteria, and catering dirty dishes.
- Assist in the storage of clean dishes.
- Maintain the dishroom, janitor closet, and patient food carts in an organized, sanitary manner.
- Work an assigned position on the trayline.
- Deliver and pass out patient trays.
- Deposit garbage into the trash compactor.
- Assist in the cleaning of kitchen, storeroom, walk-in, and freezer floors.
- Assist in the recycling of empty boxes and cans.
- Perform special cleaning assignments.
- Demonstrate understanding of HCA’s and “Patients First” safety initiative by strict compliance to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Food Handlers Permit required within 7 days of hire.
