Role: Intern Backend & Systems

About the Role

• Architecting the "Engine" and Infrastructure.
• Replacing boilerplate solutions with a custom, high-performance architecture.
• Building a custom product catalog to replace Shopify.
• Managing complex multi-merchant payout systems.
• Duration: 2 months
• Stipend: No Stipend

The Stack

• Logic: Next.js 16 API Routes & Drizzle ORM (Type-safe SQL)
• Database: Supabase (PostgreSQL)
• Payments: Stripe Connect (Multi-merchant payouts & splits)
• Infrastructure: Docker (Node 20 Alpine), GHCR, and GitHub Actions CI/CD

Key Responsibilities

• Design and migrate Postgres schemas using Drizzle ORM to handle thousands of products and transactions.
• Build the backend logic for Stripe Connect, ensuring sellers get paid accurately and on time.
• Manage the Dockerized deployment flow to our VPS via GitHub Actions.
• Optimize SQL queries to ensure the content feed stays lightning-fast even as the DB grows.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Solid understanding of PostgreSQL and Relational Database Design.
• Experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Curiosity about DevOps (Docker, SSH, CI/CD pipelines).
• Bonus: You’ve integrated Stripe or another payment gateway in a personal project.
