About the Role
As a Sales and Operations Management Trainee at Penske Truck Leasing in Santa Clara, you will use your degree to run a business and solve problems for customers. Through ongoing training and mentoring, you will learn Penske's sales processes, technology, and company culture, building a foundation in sales and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop consumer and commercial customer solutions for local and national accounts.
- Manage vehicle inventory, balancing fleet productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- Generate new business leads and foster existing customer relationships.
- Ensure complete customer satisfaction.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business or Marketing.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to drive Penske vehicles, including a 26’ box truck.
- Willingness to travel within the district.
- Ability to work the required schedule and at the specific location.
- Ability to accept responsibility for own safety and the safety of others.
- Department of Transportation (DOT) regulated position requiring a current driver qualification file. This includes:
- Annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check.
- Successfully completed DOT Physical.
- Safety Performance History records request from prior employers (last 3 years).
- CDL holders: DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and FMCSA Clearinghouse review.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
Qualifications
- Internship or related work experience in a customer-facing role is preferred.
- Results-oriented, attention to detail, and good time management skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to read, communicate verbally and in written form.
- Ability to remember and analyze information and instructions.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit.
- Frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs/12 kg.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Salary: $33.42/hr
