About the Role
The Quality Control and Laboratory In-Charge is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru. This position is responsible for overseeing all quality control activities for woodwork products.
Key Responsibilities
- Establishing and implementing testing procedures.
- Inspecting materials and finished goods.
- Ensuring compliance with internal standards and relevant industry norms.
- Supervising laboratory operations.
- Maintaining testing equipment.
- Documenting results.
- Preparing quality reports for management.
- Collaborating closely with production, R&D, and procurement teams to address quality issues.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensuring that factory-made and factory-finished products consistently meet performance and safety expectations.
Qualifications
- Strong background in quality control, quality assurance, and laboratory operations within manufacturing or materials-related industries.
- Experience with testing methods, inspection techniques, and use of laboratory equipment relevant to woodwork, laminates, or building materials.
- Knowledge of quality standards, documentation practices, and basic statistical analysis for monitoring and improving product quality.
- Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams, manage workflows, and supervise technicians or support staff in a lab environment.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and capability to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and documentation tools for reporting, data entry, and record maintenance.
- Diploma or degree in Science, Engineering, Wood Science, Materials, or a related field.
- Prior experience in woodwork or building materials manufacturing is an advantage.
- Willingness to work on-site in Bengaluru and adapt to factory schedules and safety requirements.
