Backend Developer Intern, India

About the Role

Skillzenloop is looking for a motivated Backend Developer Intern interested in server-side programming, database management, API development, and application architecture. The selected candidate will assist in building backend functionality, implementing APIs, managing application data, and troubleshooting technical issues while gaining practical experience in backend development.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining server-side application functionality.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable backend code.
• Develop and test REST APIs to support web and application features.
• Work with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
• Implement data validation and error-handling mechanisms.
• Assist in developing authentication and authorization functionality under guidance.
• Integrate backend services with frontend applications.
• Identify and troubleshoot backend errors and performance issues.
• Write SQL queries and support database operations.
• Participate in testing API endpoints and validating application responses.
• Use Git and GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
• Maintain technical documentation and follow established coding standards.
• Collaborate with frontend developers and other team members to implement project requirements.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Basic knowledge of at least one backend programming language, such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or PHP.
• Familiarity with backend frameworks such as Node.js with Express, Django, Flask, or Spring Boot is an advantage.
• Understanding of REST APIs and HTTP fundamentals.
• Basic knowledge of relational or NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of data structures and programming fundamentals.
• Familiarity with Git and GitHub is preferred.
• Basic understanding of authentication, validation, and error handling is beneficial.
• Knowledge of JSON and API testing tools such as Postman is an advantage.
• Strong logical reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
• Good attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a remote environment.

Qualifications

• Candidates pursuing or holding a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Freshers and entry-level candidates.
• Candidates with backend projects, API development experience, or database-related academic projects are encouraged to apply.
• Access to a computer and a reliable internet connection.

Internship Details

• Duration: 1–3 Months
• Stipend: ₹15,000–₹16,000 per month
• Employment Type: Full-time Internship
