About the Role
Ground Systems Engineering Intern Summer 2027 at Rocket Lab Corporation.
Support the Test Ground Systems team, providing the Archimedes engine with necessary components for testing. Provide instrumentation, controls, and automation to capture data for the Neutron Program. The Ground Systems team is integral to testing, from designing and building new capabilities to ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

- Apply engineering and industry concepts to solve real challenges in a fast-paced group.
- Attend frequent 1:1s with mentors and supervisors for success, learning, and progress updates.
- Enjoy tech talks and network with other interns and employees.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s, master's, or doctorate degree program in an engineering discipline (e.g., Electrical, Mechatronics, Robotics Engineering) or a physics discipline.
- At least one semester of school remaining post-internship.
- GPA of 3.0 or above.
- 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, personal/team projects).
- Able to work full-time, on-site for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks.
- Internship start dates: May or June 2027.
Nice to Have Qualifications
- GPA of 3.5 or above.
- 6+ months of applied engineering experience.
- Experience with Solidworks and MATLAB.
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience.
- Computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) experience.
- Lathe Machining experience.
- Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing experience.
- Python and C++ experience.
- Experience working with pressurized systems.
- Proficient knowledge of fluid dynamics.
