Retail Cashier

About the Role

MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries is seeking an energetic, self-motivated, and professional Retail Cashier to join our Eureka Store team. This is an Hourly Full-Time position with an hourly rate of $15.50.

Key Responsibilities

• Make customers a priority by greeting and acknowledging them upon entry, assisting on the sales floor, and answering the phone within three rings with a professional greeting.
• Operate the store cash register, including cash handling, credit card transactions, processing discounts, and cash register balancing.
• Stock, straighten, rotate, and maintain the cleanliness of the entire store area efficiently and to standard.
• Request assistance from managers for returns, exchanges, and customer complaints.
• Uphold store cleanliness standards by sweeping, dusting, mopping, and shining surfaces.
• Establish and maintain positive and professional relationships with team members and leadership, and work cross-functionally with other teams to increase communication.
• Utilize safe work practices through awareness and observation.
• Contribute to ensuring a hazard-free workplace by removing obstructions and keeping aisles and designated walkways debris-free.
• Maintain a professional appearance always, adhering to MERS/Goodwill's dress code.
• Safeguard agency assets, including cash, donated items, and purchased items, from harm, damage, or theft. Report any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of agency assets.
• Adhere to all MERS/Goodwill policies, Goodwill Retail procedures, and safety and security regulations.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Math skills include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Qualifications

• No degree is required.
• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• The ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, customers, and management.
• Must be organized and capable of interacting with a diverse work population.
