Marketing Communications Intern

About the Role

We Are In Collective is looking for someone who enjoys exploring ideas, understanding businesses, and communicating with people. This role goes beyond simply writing captions, attending meetings, or following instructions. We seek an individual who wants to understand how marketing works beyond social media and how ideas translate into conversations, relationships, and ultimately, business.

Key Responsibilities

• Marketing & Strategy
• Work closely with the team on researching businesses, brands, industries, and competitors.
• Understand brand positioning, communication, and target audiences.
• Explore marketing opportunities, ideas, and strategies.
• Participate in strategy discussions and planning.
• Content & Communication
• Contribute to content development and planning.
• Brainstorm campaign ideas and creative approaches.
• Participate in client meetings, discussions, and presentations.
• Explore different ways to communicate a brand's message.
• Get involved in video presentations, if interested and skilled.
• LinkedIn & Digital
• Be active on LinkedIn through your own profile.
• Explore and engage in the LinkedIn ecosystem.
• Explore AI tools for research, brainstorming, and everyday tasks.
• Share interesting discoveries and bring new ideas to the team.
• Agency Operations
• See and participate in different aspects of how a marketing agency operates, without being restricted to one particular function.
• Proactive Engagement
• Ask questions.
• Challenge things and suggest better ways.
• Understand the brands and businesses the agency works with.
• Explore tools, platforms, trends, and ideas.
• Take initiative instead of waiting for instructions.
• Take ownership of your work.
• Make mistakes, learn from them, and own them.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Curiosity & Exploration: Enjoys researching, exploring, and connecting ideas.
• Engagement: Comfortable expressing thoughts and participating in discussions.
• LinkedIn Proficiency: An active LinkedIn user who understands the platform.
• Tool Familiarity: Familiarity with social media and AI tools.

Qualifications

Previous experience is not a deal-breaker. The focus is on curiosity, communication skills, and a willingness to get involved.
