Junior Lighting Designer

About the Role

As a Junior Lighting Designer at Lumin-Essence Lighting Solutions Pvt Ltd, you will play a pivotal role in assisting senior lighting designers in the conceptualization, development, producing working drawings, and implementation of lighting designs for various projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Create lighting layouts, renderings, and visualizations using software tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, or similar applications to communicate design intent effectively.
• Research and evaluate lighting fixtures, lamps, controls, and other lighting components based on technical specifications, performance criteria, and aesthetic considerations.
• Conduct lighting calculations, simulations, and analyses using software tools like Dialux evo to assess illuminance levels, uniformity, glare, and energy efficiency.
• Prepare detailed Electrical drawings and coordinate with the Architect/Interior Designer/Client for revisions in the layout and design.
• Prepare detailed Bill of Quantities with specifications of lights proposed along with quantities + components.
• Communicate effectively with project team members and clients to clarify requirements, address feedback, and manage expectations throughout the design and construction phases.
• Assist in coordinating lighting mock-ups, site visits, and field surveys to evaluate lighting performance, resolve issues, and ensure design intent is realized.
• Attend Design and Production meetings, read publications, and study competing products and design styles to obtain a broader perspective on the market.
• Plan and create visually appealing architectural lighting concepts.
• Coordinate with internal departments to provide the best quality services in terms of planning and pricing.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and Photoshop is a must.
• Basic SketchUp skills.
• Familiarity with Dialux Evo is an added advantage.
• Demonstrated time management skills to meet deadlines and stay focused under pressure.
• Willingness to work as part of a highly-motivated team through collaboration and open communication.
• Excellent communication skills (Written & Verbal) in English and Hindi (Verbal). Kannada (Verbal is an added advantage).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Lighting Design, or Electrical Engineering.
• 0-1 year of experience in architectural lighting design or a design-related role preferred.
