AI Workflow & Product Systems Intern

About the Role

Shountr is an early-stage technology platform focused on bringing local retailers and their products online. We are exploring how AI, intelligent workflows, and automation can simplify real-world problems and help build smarter, scalable product systems. We are looking for a curious and resourceful intern who enjoys breaking down problems, experimenting with technology, and turning ideas into practical solutions. This is an opportunity to work closely with the founder, contribute to real product-development challenges, and experience the process of building an early-stage startup.

Key Responsibilities

• Explore and develop AI-powered workflows to automate repetitive or complex tasks.
• Research and experiment with AI tools, APIs, and agent-based systems to solve practical problems.
• Work with product information, data extraction, structuring, and quality checks.
• Explore approaches to web scraping, product identification, duplicate detection, and data processing.
• Break down unfamiliar problems, research possible solutions, test different approaches, and document findings.
• Contribute ideas during brainstorming and help turn promising concepts into working prototypes.

The exact tasks will evolve based on the problem being solved and your strengths. We value thoughtful experimentation and working solutions over simply following instructions.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong logical reasoning and a structured approach to problem-solving.
• Basic familiarity with programming, AI tools like n8n, MCP servers, automation, or related technical concepts.
• Ability to research unfamiliar topics and learn independently.
• Willingness to experiment, troubleshoot, and take initiative.
• Clear communication and the ability to explain your approach to a problem.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience experimenting with AI tools, LLMs, AI agents, or agentic workflows.
• Familiarity with Python or another programming language.
• Exposure to APIs, web scraping, crawlers, or data extraction.
• Basic understanding of algorithms, databases, SQL, or data processing.
• Personal projects, prototypes, automation experiments, or relevant academic work.

You do not need to be an expert in every area. We are particularly interested in how you think, learn, and approach problems.
