About the Role
- Job Title: Medical Transcription Intern
- Employment Type: Full Time (Internship)
- Work Mode: Remote
- Location: India (Remote)
- Duration: 1 to 3 months
- Stipend: INR 14,500 to INR 16,000 per month
Key Responsibilities
- Listen to doctor dictations and audio recordings and convert them into accurate written medical reports.
- Transcribe patient histories, discharge summaries, consultation notes, and operative reports.
- Edit and proofread transcribed documents for spelling, grammar, medical terms, and formatting.
- Review draft reports against the audio and correct errors, missing details, and unclear words.
- Follow standard medical report formats, style guides, and turnaround time requirements.
- Follow healthcare compliance, data privacy, and confidentiality standards in all records.
- Prepare daily and weekly transcription productivity and accuracy reports in Excel or Google Sheets.
- Work with the team to understand requirements and deliver tasks on time.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Good typing speed with high accuracy.
- Good listening skills and the ability to understand different accents.
- Strong English grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills.
- Basic knowledge of MS Word, Excel, or Google Docs.
- Good attention to detail and time management.
- Candidates must have a laptop or computer, headphones, and a stable internet connection.
Good to Have
- Typing speed of 40 words per minute or more.
- Familiarity with transcription tools, speech recognition software, or foot pedals.
- Basic understanding of HIPAA and healthcare documentation standards.
- Any medical transcription course, certification, or internship experience.
Eligibility
- Students and recent graduates in B.Pharm, D.Pharm, BDS, BPT, B.Sc (Nursing, Life Sciences, Biotechnology), BAMS, BHMS, BA (English) or any related field.
- Freshers interested in building a career in medical transcription and healthcare documentation.
