About the Role
We're looking for a Build and Integration Engineer with expertise in Yocto Project to configure, customize, and build Linux distributions for embedded systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Use the Yocto Project to configure, customize, and build Linux distributions for embedded systems.
- Develop new Yocto layers and recipes for all project-related development.
- Integrate third-party libraries, tools, and drivers into custom Linux distributions.
- Triage build failures, providing solutions/guidance to users.
- Actively collaborate with the CI/Build implementation team on major failures/findings.
- Troubleshoot build issues and optimize build times.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to optimize workflows and ensure seamless integration.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Strong experience with the Yocto Project, including writing recipes, layers, and customizing images within a continuous integration (CI) environment.
- Knowledge of Gitlab CI/CD.
- Knowledge and good hands-on experience of scripting languages (Python, shell-scripting).
- Proficient in C programming and Linux.
- Experience in version control systems (e.g., Git) and build automation tools.
- Familiarity with tools like menuconfig, make, and kernel patches.
- Experience with Jfrog, Artifactory, Gitlab CI.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Bonus Points:
- Experience with Android architecture and build system.
- Knowledge of Bazel build system.
- Familiarity with automotive infotainment system architecture and components.
