Operations Internship

About the Role

Pattern accelerates brands on global ecommerce marketplaces leveraging proprietary technology and AI. We are looking for a driven Operations Intern with a basic understanding of supply chain, logistics, and business operations principles who is ready for an immersive, real-world experience. This internship offers a year-long hybrid work schedule in Lehi, Utah, transitioning from full-time during summer to part-time during the academic year.

Key Responsibilities

Under the supervision of staff, the Operations Intern will:

• Track and analyze operational data.
• Support inventory and order fulfillment workflows.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and partners.
• Document and improve processes.
• Assist staff with other day-to-day activities.

Typical Day Activities

• Work with the Operations Business Intelligence Analyst on reporting and analysis requests.
• Pull, clean, and validate operational data from multiple sources (spreadsheets, internal systems, marketplace and fulfillment partner data).
• Maintain accurate and complete operational records.
• Build and refresh weekly and monthly reports, dashboards, and spreadsheets tracking key metrics (inventory levels, order status, shipment timeliness, fulfillment accuracy).
• Monitor inventory, orders, and shipments, spotting anomalies and trends, and flagging issues.
• Investigate ad hoc questions from the Operations team and present findings clearly.
• Document reporting logic, data definitions, and processes.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual tasks and improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Own a small project or analysis and share findings and recommendations.
• Take on additional tasks or projects to learn about ecommerce operations, business intelligence, and supply chain management.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets, including formulas, pivot tables, and lookups.
• Comfort working with large data sets.
• A strong interest in learning SQL or BI and data visualization tools is a must.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Possess an understanding of operations, supply chain, and business principles.

• Familiarity with SQL or BI and data visualization tools is a plus.
