Safety Officer

About the Role

The Safety Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in the Pune Division, responsible for implementing and monitoring safety standards across construction and housing project sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting site inspections.
• Identifying hazards.
• Recommending corrective actions.
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and legal requirements.
• Organizing and delivering safety training for site staff and contractors.
• Maintaining safety documentation.
• Supporting incident and accident investigations.
• Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and security personnel to develop and update safety procedures.
• Conducting risk assessments.
• Promoting a culture of safety awareness.
• Regular reporting on safety performance.
• Participation in safety audits and reviews.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Health & Safety and Occupational Health knowledge.
• Experience applying safety standards on construction or industrial sites.
• Skills in Accident Investigation, including root cause analysis, incident documentation, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Security and site safety coordination skills to help manage access control, emergency procedures, and overall risk mitigation.
• Safety Training capabilities, including conducting toolbox talks, safety orientations, and ongoing awareness sessions for diverse site teams.
• Knowledge of local statutory and regulatory requirements related to occupational safety and construction safety in India.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage workers at all levels.
• Ability to maintain clear records and reports.
• Ability to work independently on-site.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to respond effectively to emergencies and changing project conditions.

Qualifications

• Relevant diploma or degree in safety management, engineering, or a related field.
• Professional safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) are an advantage.
