PT Pharmacy Intern

About the Role

Stop & Shop pharmacies fill prescriptions and provide expert advice, medication therapy management services, and immunizations, making a positive impact on customer health and wellness.

Key Responsibilities

• Learn to provide the best patient experience by assisting the pharmacist and pharmacy team members in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Under the supervision of the pharmacist, assist in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state, federal, and company policy.
• Review and comply with the Stop & Shop Co. Pharmacy policies & procedures.
• Assist pharmacists and other healthcare providers in delivering patient care and services within the scope of practice for pharmacy interns, including patient counseling, immunizations, and medication therapy management.
• Use pharmacy dispensing software to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Register sales in the point of sale / cash register, collect and handle cash as required.
• Assist customers in locating products in the OTC aisle.
• Handle telephone calls that do not require the personal attention of the pharmacist, including calls to physicians.
• Assist and support the Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, cycle counting, and storing of pharmaceuticals.
• Ensure the Pharmacy Department is well stocked, neat, and orderly.
• Model and deliver exceptional customer experience.
• Perform duties as assigned and supervised by the pharmacist in accordance with Stop & Shop standard operating procedures for entering, third-party processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current student enrolled in an accredited school of pharmacy program with the ability to administer vaccinations.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Pharmacy Intern license in Good Standing with the state board of pharmacy.
