About the Role
- This is a foundational hire.
- You will perform various aspects of dispatching in trucking, without needing prior trucking experience.
- You will keep freight moving for customers by assigning loads, communicating with drivers, handling exceptions, and solving daily problems.
- You are expected to be AI-native, using AI as your default for researching, troubleshooting, and completing work, and possess the critical thinking to identify and propose fixes for process issues.
- You will work directly with engineering and product to automate repetitive tasks.
- The role offers significant direction, coaching, and ownership, and serves as a launchpad for growth into larger roles.
What You’ll Do
- Run daily dispatch execution from the playbook: load assignment, driver communication, check-calls, and exception handling.
- Ensure loads are covered and customers are informed, escalating when necessary.
- Use AI tools daily for research, troubleshooting, drafting, analyzing, and automating work.
- Improve the playbook by documenting effective processes, flagging issues, and shipping better processes.
- Identify problems early and propose solutions.
- Partner with engineering and product to automate manual workflows.
- Track and use operational KPIs (load coverage, on-time performance, driver utilization) for improvement.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- AI-native habits: Default use of AI for learning, research, and producing work.
- Sharp critical thinking: Ability to identify issues, ask "why," and propose solutions.
- Hungry and coachable: Open to direction, feedback, and a steep learning curve.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Organized and calm under pressure; comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities.
- No trucking, logistics, or dispatch experience required.
Qualifications
- A recent degree or 1–2 years of work experience.
- High-performing new graduates are encouraged to apply.
Nice to Have
- Internship or early experience in operations, logistics, supply chain, or a fast-moving startup.
- Comfort with data: spreadsheets, SQL, or light scripting.
- Spanish language proficiency.
