AI Engineer Intern

About the Role

Tikko Desk is a startup building B2B software for IT teams, encompassing Help Desk, Assets, Endpoints, People onboarding/offboarding, Vault, and Workflows. The AI assistant, Tikky, is integrated to draft ticket replies, read invoices, explain device logs, and suggest fixes. This is a full-time, hybrid internship based in Hyderabad, lasting 5-6 months, for immediate joiners.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and improve AI features in Tikky using large language models (LLMs) through APIs.
• Write, test, and refine prompts, ensuring AI outputs are reliable, accurate, and safe.
• Build small evaluation sets to measure and improve AI answer accuracy.
• Connect AI features to real product data using Python (FastAPI) on the backend.
• Explore new AI tools and models, and identify opportunities for AI to save IT teams time.
• Daily use and careful review of AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, and GitHub Copilot.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Must-haves:
• Good Python skills (projects and coursework are acceptable).
• Hands-on experience calling an LLM API (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini) in a project.
• Understanding of prompt engineering and AI limitations (hallucinations, cost, privacy).
• Comfortable with Git.
• Daily use of AI tools.
• Availability for 5-6 months, full-time, starting immediately, hybrid in Hyderabad.
• Nice-to-haves:
• Experience with RAG, embeddings, vector search, or AI agents and tool calling.
• Experience with FastAPI, SQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Any experience with Google Cloud or Vertex AI.
